How to Use the Word Click Feature

One of Avocado's most powerful features is the ability to click on any word to get instant insights. Here's how to use it effectively.
Single Word Click
When reading a passage or viewing a transcript, simply click on any word. The sidebar will instantly show you:
- The translation in your native language
- The word's article (der/die/das for German nouns)
- A clear definition
- Example sentences
- Synonyms in the learning language
- The sentence containing the word, with its translation
Phrase Selection
You can also select a phrase or short sentence by clicking and dragging. The sidebar will show you the full translation of the selected text. This is great for understanding idiomatic expressions or complex sentence structures.
Double-Click to Save
Double-click any word to save it to your Word Library. You can review your saved words later from the Word Library page in the navigation menu. Building a personal vocabulary list helps reinforce what you've learned.
Available Everywhere
The word click feature works in:
- Reading module (on the comprehension text)
- Listening module (on the audio transcript)
- Speaking module (on your speech transcript)
Pro Tip: If you encounter a word you don't understand, click it! Understanding individual words helps you grasp the overall meaning of the text much faster.
