Getting the Most Out of Speaking Practice

The Speaking module is where you practice actual conversation skills. Here's how to use it effectively.
How It Works
1. Generate a speaking module through the Lesson Builder or Skill Builder
2. You'll see a conversation topic and task
3. Click the microphone button to start recording
4. Speak naturally about the given topic
5. Click stop when you're done
6. The AI will transcribe your speech, respond, and provide feedback
Viewing Your Transcript
After recording, your speech is automatically transcribed. The transcript is collapsed by default to keep the interface clean. Click the transcript toggle to expand it and review what was captured. You can click on individual words in your transcript to get translations, just like in the Reading module.
AI Response
After you speak, the AI responds naturally to continue the conversation. The response is played automatically using text-to-speech. You can replay it using the audio player that appears.
Getting Feedback
Click "Get Feedback" to receive a comprehensive evaluation of your speaking performance. The AI analyzes your conversation and provides scores and suggestions for improvement.
Voice Settings
You can choose your preferred AI voice (male or female) in your Profile settings. This voice is used for all AI audio responses in the Speaking module.
Tips for Better Results
- Speak clearly and at a natural pace
- Don't worry about making mistakes - that's how you learn
- Try to use vocabulary related to the topic
- Record multiple times to practice the same topic
